Well, when I was a clubber I did 3 yrs of Chums, 2 years of Guards and a year of JV. Unfortuantely AWANA headquarters don't have record of my getting a meritiourious award so I would need to start over for my citation. Instead I am working through the Sparks books that I have never done. I am using my son's old books. I recited the whole Skipper book to my daughter a couple weeks ago at home but will go through it with my girls at club. I am not in a big hurry since I have to wait for my son to finish his Hiker book so I can use it. He'll need at least until Christmas to finish with it twice. The Skipper was pretty easy because 1. I knew most of the verses already and 2. I relearned them in NIV with him last year.

just out of curiosity-are you going to do the Climber when you finish or wait until next year so that you and your son can get your Sparky awards together?

I'll wait and do the Climber book next year after he is done with it. Our Sparks Director and commeander said I can use his old books. I want to let him have it new so I will wait till he is done with it. I won't get to Hiker until after Christmas whenever he's done with doing it twice so I'll just wait until he's done with CLimber to use his book...or if we run tight to start when he is almost done. I didn't think that we would be getting the Sparky award together. That will be fun.
