Re: Cubbies say the darnest things!

well this one cubbie was saying verses to me and i hear this "mew" "mew"  and beside me there's a little cubbie acting like a cat looking at me with the cutest face ! he also acted like a dog but i guess he really wanted to say verses with me !

another time me and my fellow LIT were trying to get this little girl to say verses so i grabbed a chair and had her sit in it and i sat in front of her and did one word at a time with her but every time i tried to get her to say it she would laugh forced but hystericlly like very loud and it was so hilarious me and the other LIT were laughing so hard!  once we got oursleves together again and tried to get her to say her verse she would start force laughing again and we couldn't stop laughing! it was so funny !

ok so there's this one kid , his name is micah . his family goes to my church and his parents are the commander and secretary of our AWANA , he is 3 but very immature for his age . when you tell him no he screams very loud , so we have problems with him . anyways i was trying to get him to say his verse ( he's obsessed with lions and tigers , he goes around roaring alot ) so i get his pictur of a lion and say " ok micah! lion's gonna say your verse!" and i made the paper sing it and then i said " ok say what the lion said now " and he goes " ROOOOAAARRR!!!"  that made me laugh! lol

i have a whole bunch of funny things my cubbies have said and done and i havent even been working with them for a year! i love my cubbies !

most of the time, our cubbies just run around the game square like crazy people. But our game director has been trying to introduce some new things Like crawling on the yellow circle (dont ask).

Re: Cubbies say the darnest things!

Just curious...does anyone else working with this age group get called "Cubbie"?  For some reason, despite the fact that everyone else calls me by my first name, there seems to be one child every couple of years who decides that my name must be "Cubbie" (I assume this is because their parents say, "It's time to go to Cubbies." and they then come to church and see me).  This past club night, we were in the middle of our story and one little boy looked up at me with a very sweet expression and said, "Oh, Cubbie Bear, you're so silly!"  I thought my poor LITs were going to explode they were trying so hard not to laugh!  Because I work in schools, I'm occasionally in the Pre-K classrooms and it has caused no shortage of confusion, for students and teachers alike, when I walk into the room and one of these little people pipes up, "Oh look, Cubbie Bear's here!".  I had a clubber a few years ago who couldn't say her /k/ sound so, unfortunately (although appropriately), she called me "Tubby"!

These are so funny. I once had a Cubby I called my "Cubby cop." He kept me on my toes. If he saw anything I did he felt was wrong he would speak up. We were lined up for flag ceremony one night & he said "Miss Jodi" I ask him what he wanted & with a serious face he said " your toes are not on the blue line." I moved my toesWink

A sparkie  told his younger brother that he had a "Bible,"  But that he carried a "HOLY Bible."

I am surprised that I haven't been called. I remember when we missed a week, one of the cubbies' mom almost called because her son missed me. it's been 3 weeks since I've seen them. I think I miss them more than they miss me.

Once we had a Cubbie that had to use the bathroom "really bad."  Before she left the room, she said, "Don't call Cubbie until I get back, okay?"  We sang a few extra songs and did some extra fingerplays and waited and waited.  Finally she came back in and announced, "Okay, I'm ready!"

Last night my 3 year old and I were reading about Adam and Eve in her Bible. At the end I asked her if Eve was naughty for disobeying God and eating the fruit. She looked up at me and said "Mummy, its good to eat fruit so Eve wasn't naughty"

Re: Cubbies say the darnest things!

One night when snack was almost over, we asked our clubbers to throw their trash away if they were finished.  Our first little Cubbie to stand and throw away her trash was a sweet little huggable girl.

One of our boys said, "Hey!  She beat me up!"

I looked at him and said, "No she didn't, I was watching!" in the tone of "you're just being silly!"

He had a look of "what are you talking about, Mrs. Kelly" and said, "No, the trash!  She beat me!!!"

    lol

we coudnt teach for another few minutes after that.

Re: Cubbies say the darnest things!

We hold Cubbies in the preschool area, two rooms connected and also has a bathroom inbetween.  By this I mean their is a door connecting the two rooms then each room has its own door to the hallway and another to the bathroom so you can go back and forth without going through the bathroom and can get to the bathroom from either room.  Anyway when you are in the bathroom you can hear the Praise Band practicing upstairs through the vents.  One little boy goes in and comes out to inform us theirs noise in the bathroom, whats that noise?  When I explain it, another little boy went in and ended up having to get carried out by his mom (one of my leaders) because he wanted to stay in their and listen and somewhat play along. He knows its daddy up their playing the drums.
