    Cubbies say the darnest things!

ok, had this idea for some reason, if your cubbies say funny stuff, then post it here! I have one from when we were doing the bear hug brochure

me: "can you say 'Jesus loves me'?"
    kid: "S Loves me!"

this last week I thought this was cute:
me: "Hannah, do you know tonight's verse?"
kid: "your word is truth!" (I hope I did that right)

Re: Cubbies say the darnest things!

A couple of weeks ago I was in our Cubbies class & the leader ask her group "what power do mom & dad have?" Kids didn't understand so she ask " what can mom & dad do that no one else can?" One little boys said "spank." He saw us smile @ it so his answer to everything the rest of the night was "spank spank." I know this child is never spanked, maybe swatted once or twice

We have a Cubbie who had come only one time because he didn't want to leave mom & dad. His older brother (T&T) & sister (Sparks) were going home from club talking about how much fun they have @ club. Cubbie finally told mom & dad "I don't have fun being with you any more, I want to go to Awana."Big Smile He came last week & was so proud he didn't cry.

Our Puggler jumps right in, he plays with T&T boys & Sparks. He has an 8 year old brother so he is used to it.

Re: Cubbies say the darnest things!

Cute idea. I have a favorite that I share with a lot of people. Last year our story was on The Lord's Prayer. Our story teller decided to take each part of the prayer and talk about it, asking the kids if they knew what it meant. Most of them didn't, but they got the idea. By the end we got to "Amen". The teacher asked does anyone know what this means? A little boy in our class answered, "Time for snack!" Smile I'm secretary this year so I don't get to hear those cute comments to much anymore. Re: Cubbies say the darnest things!

we had the thanksgiving day thing last week and part of prayer time was all of the kids/leaders saying "thank you" aloud. It was so cute!

Re: Cubbies say the darnest things!

This is something that our Sparkies said years ago:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He forgave His only forgotten son ...

And when reciting the books of the Old Testament

Palms, Proverbs, Elastics, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamingtons ....

    Kids are soooo cute!

This may not belong to this post,but----Cubbies always surprise me with actions, too. One little boy cried every night his mom left him, he pouted everytime we turned around during Cubbies. Then last Cubbie night, to have that same little boy RUN to me as soon as he saw me with a big hug is quite awesome. He  didn't even miss Mom!!! It does make everything ok. I LOVE MY CUBBIES!!!!!!

we have had the same problem, but this one little girl has had other problems. For her to actually talk to us was very cute.

It is so great when they turn around. Like my Cubbie who decided he had more fun at club than with mom & dad
